Dharma…that’s what’s on my mind today.

Dharma…

That’s what’s on my mind today (and many days since 2020). The world shifted. Nothing felt right anymore. No stability. No certainty. Who are my people? Why am I here? What is my role to play?

So many of us think of dharma as “purpose”. It conjures notions of big calling and deeply impactful action. But Daniel Schmachtenberger describes it as “right relationship with life”. This reframe is significant, important and right.

What if we stopped asking “what am I here to do?” and started, instead, wondering, “How am I meant to live? What does it look like for the individual that is me to unfold, blossom and become?” It’s a subtle shift but a momentous one: the former is what you’re supposed to do, while the latter is how you’re designed to be.

…the former is what you’re supposed to do, while the latter is how you’re designed to be.
